Project Overview
This project focused on building a Tamil Font Transliterate web app, which allows users to input text in English and transliterate it into Tamil script. The app demonstrates my skills in creating language-based tools and working with script transliteration.
Project Problem
Transliteration between different scripts can be difficult for users, especially when dealing with complex languages like Tamil. The challenge was to design a simple tool that accurately converts English text to Tamil, focusing on both usability and functional accuracy.
My Role & Responsibilities
As the individual developer, I:
• Created a simple and clean front-end for the transliteration tool.
• Built a transliteration algorithm to map English characters to Tamil.
• Focused on ensuring the app is intuitive and easy to use.
• Conducted testing to verify transliteration accuracy.
UX & Project Focus
• Target users: Individuals learning Tamil or those who need quick transliteration for communication.
• User goals: Quickly and easily convert English text into Tamil script.
• Constraints: Handling linguistic nuances of Tamil and ensuring real-time functionality.
• UX principles: Clarity, ease of use, and accuracy.
Process

Reflection
Future updates could include integrating more complex linguistic rules or an API for more accurate and versatile transliterations. Adding support for Tamil-to-English transliteration would also enhance the app.
