Project Overview
The objective of this project was to create an ONLINE COURSE PLATFORM FOR AN ACCOUNTING FOUNDATIONS COURSE, demonstrating my skills in eLearning design and development. The app includes course modules, lessons, and quizzes, offering users the ability to learn and track progress at their own pace. This project allowed me to apply the knowledge I gained from MEd program Online Learning Design courses.

Project Problem
Existing online learning platforms often lack personalization and are difficult to navigate. My challenge was to develop a clean, easy-to-use platform that could engage users, providing not only content but also interactive elements such as quizzes and progress tracking.

My Role & Responsibilities
As the individual developer, I:
• Designed and built the front-end of the course platform using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Developed course pages with modules, lessons, and interactive quizzes.
• Implemented user progress tracking features.
• Focused on making the platform responsive and user-friendly.
• Integrated sample accounting content from educational resources.

UX & Project Focus
• Target users: Students learning accounting foundations or individuals seeking to improve their financial literacy.
• User goals: Learn accounting concepts through well-structured lessons and interactive quizzes.
• Constraints: Time limitations and ensuring course content is engaging.
• UX principles: Simplicity, engagement, and clarity. The platform should provide a smooth learning experience.

Process

  1. Mapped the course structure, including modules and lessons.
  2. Designed interactive quizzes to test user comprehension.
  3. Developed a responsive user interface to ensure compatibility across devices.
  4. Integrated progress tracking to enhance user engagement.
  5. Conducted iterative testing to improve usability.

Outcome
• A fully functional, interactive course platform.
• Course content that was aligned with accounting principles and structured for easy learning.

• Strengthened my skills in eLearning design and front-end development.

Reflection
Future iterations would include incorporating a back-end to store user data and achievements, as well as adding multimedia content such as videos and animations to enhance the learning experience.
